Captain Ed West

Captain Edward (Ed) F. West graduated "cum laude" from Point Park College, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in May 1974. He holds a BA in theatre with a minor in English. Ed spent the next 20 plus years in the theatre and movie industry. Fourteen of those years were with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. During this time, he did 10 tours of the U.S. plus home seasons at Heinz Hall working in several capacities including company manager, technical director and production manager. During production breaks, Ed also worked on several motion pictures including Robo Cop, Silence of the Lambs, Lorenzo's Oil, Neon Jungle, Act of Vengeance, The Stand, Iron Maze, Gung Ho and Mrs. Soffel.

His love of the sea landed Ed on St. Thomas in 1997. He spent three years with Limos Charters and was Captain on the motor yacht, Ponchis, for three seasons. Ed holds his master's license with STCW. His local knowledge of pirate lore and island history is unsurpassed. Allow him to take you back in time to relive the exciting events that make the Virgin Islands so memorable.


Chef Jade Montana

Jade Montana – her name says it all. Jade loves the adventures of life. He easygoing, fun loving, personality is infectious. This 26-year old hails from North Carolina. She loves the outdoors, especially being on the water. Kayaking, shell hunting, knee boarding, snorkeling and sailing satisfy her zest. Jade is widely traveled across the US and Hawaii. Her more subdued side enjoys painting bright colored abstracts using oils and acrylics.

 

Jade graduated Alamance Community College in North Carolina with a Nursing School Degree, CAN, NPR and RPR. She is licensed as a registered nurse in North Carolina and the US Virgin Islands. Her training and experiences as a nurse gives her an abundant sense of humor and entertainment in both fast-paced and easy going environments plus a high concentration of interaction with a wide variety of people in different settings.

 

Jade’s culinary skills were developed out of a love of preparing fine food dishes for friends and family. These skills were professionalized at Squids Restaurant, Michaels Grill and Starr Point Grille in North Carolina. She has training in nutrition. You will love spending the week with this fun-loving, adventurous young lady and probably go home with one of her delicious recipes.



First Mate Chris Broussard

First Mate, Christopher Broussard, came to the Virgin Islands from Dallas, Texas, over two years ago. Chris is known as the "go to guy". As guests have found out, they go to him not only to fix things, but for water-skiing, hiking, tubing, snorkeling, scuba diving, knee boarding, etc.

Chris loves to show the guests a great time. His youth, knowledge and enthusiasm are a wonderful asset. Chris loves being "out there" and has in-depth knowledge of the area and is well versed on marine life. He's ready for you to set the pace and have a great experience aboard Serendy.
